Jack is a senior at Washington and Lee. He is from Richmond, VA and has played lacrosse at W&L for four years. Jack has 4 older siblings and cousins that have attended Washington and Lee before him. His family is how he learned about the big fancy dress ball long before Jack was a student at Washington and Lee. Jack describes the ball as one of the best nights of the whole year and it is something to look forward to for all of first and most of second semester. Jack is especially excited about moving to New York post-graduation and attending the alumni fancy dress ball. He likes how the network of W&L uses such a major event during your time at the university to continue to grow your network beyond life on campus.
Banks is a senior at Washington and Lee. He is from St. Louis, MO and has played lacrosse at W&L for four years. Banks did not know what to expect of Fancy Dress upon arriving on campus as a first-year. He quickly learned from older guys that Fancy Dress would eventually be one of the best nights of the year and was instantly enthralled at the opportunity to attend. He did not realize the golrified history of the ball until talking to an alumni his freshman year. One of his friend's dads expressed to Banks that this was a tradition like no other and you will never forget it in your life. He feels as though those words have stuck with him and he waits eagerly for Fancy Dress each year and appreciates the amazing history and time with friends very much.
Oliver is a senior at Washington and Lee. He is from Charlottesville, VA and has played both football and lacrosse for Washington and Lee. Oliver grew up close to W&L and has been hearing stories of the great ball for much of his life. He specifically remembers hearing that it was one of the biggest parties in the south back in the day. This is one of the things that he always found interesting about Washington and Lee and made him excited about potentially attending the school at just a young age. He says that his experience of Fancy Dress met and exceeded all expectations he had. Although he enjoys the ginormous party, what really makes fancy dress special for oliver is the way it brings the W&L community together. He says there is no other event throughout the year that brings all of the great members of this University together quite like Fancy Dress.
