About Mock Convention: Held every four years, Washington and Lee’s Mock Convention is the country's most accurate simulation of the presidential nominating convention. W&L students predict the primary nominee for the party currently not in office. Since 1908, W&L has held 27 conventions and predicted the nominee correctly 20 times.

Ellie Ankeny is a senior at Washington and Lee University, majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Mass Communications. Ellie hails from Wayzata, Minnesota and plans to move to Washington D.C. after graduation. Ellie has experience in both PR and Marketing through various internships in both Washington D.C. and New York City. On campus, Ellie has worked on the marketing team for GAB and the steering committee for fancy dress. She is also very involved with the Washington and Lee Outing Club where she served as an Appalachian Adventure Trip Leader for three years and the Public Relations and Marketing Intern for two years. Additionally, Ellie was a member of the North Carolina delegation where she helped with float coordination and design for the 2020 Mock Convention Parade. 

Sydney McGrew is a senior at Washington and Lee University, majoring in Business Administration. Sydney is from Atlanta Georgia. She is also a member of the Zeta Tau Chapter of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority on campus. She served as the recruitment chairman her junior year for Kappa. Additionally, Sydney was involved in Mock Con as she has been on the Memorabilia team since 2019. She also was on the Washington Float in the parade in the 2020 Mock Convention. After graduation, Sydney will be working in New York at M&T bank doing wealth management. 

Emma Pollard is a senior at Washington and Lee University, majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Mass Communications. Emma is an Atlanta native, where she will return after graduation to join the brand marketing team at Carter’s, Inc. She has experience in both marketing and sales through various internships in New York City and Atlanta. On campus, Emma is a member of the Generals Activity Board and the Washington Mock Convention Delegation, and she served on the Panhellenic Council as a delegate representing her sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma.
