About

The establishment and growth of SABU in the early 1970s and throughout the 1980s symbolizes the concerted efforts of African-Americans to carve out a place for themselves in W&L’s social fabric.

In our process in selecting important documents relating to Washington and Lee's integration, we decided to stick closely to primary sources and focus heavily on SABU. We believe that SABU plays an enormous role in the successful integration here.
