Es Este facsímil reproduce un manuscrito en la Biblioteca Colombina de Sevilla escrito por Fernando Colón que la única copia existente de este texto. Los facsímiles son copias fotográficas exactas página por página del original y preservan historia por mostrar como personas de los siglos pasados crearon sus catálogos. Este precioso artefacto es una colección del resumen de casi quince mil a veinte mil libros de una biblioteca propia que Colón reunió a principios del siglo XVI. Su objetivo era formar un catálogo completo de todos los libros del mundo y empezó este deseo por encontrar tantos libros que él podría. Desafortunadamente, no pudo completar este esfuerzo y murió antes de terminarlo. Además, muchos de los libros y recursos de su colección fueron destruidos durante la Inquisición. Afortunadamente, Arthur M. Huntington comisionó este facsímil, que reproduce el manuscrito creado por Colón y lo presenta de una manera ordenada y más accesible a todo el mundo. Huntington es el fundador de The Hispanic Society of America que es la organización que dio este catálogo a la biblioteca de Washington y Lee y todavía es una sociedad influyente hoy en día con una sede y un museo en Nueva York. Es interesante notar que Huntington puso sus cartas credenciales como es un miembro correspondiente de la real academia española y de la real académica de la historia para presentarse como una persona inteligente y su obra también es inteligente porque es un producto de un especialista internacional. El comienza con una portada y una carta dedicatoria a la biblioteca columbina de Sevilla antes de comenzar con la reproducción fotográfica del manuscrito. Cada página del manuscrito tiene una multitud de resúmenes de libros escritos a mano por Colón, cada con un número para catalogar las obras resumidas. . Este formato es útil para entender la magnitud de los libros descritos en este catálogo. Algo interesante es que el catálogo no solamente describe libros de este período, sino también otros materiales impresos como sueltas y baladas.

En This facsimile reproduces a manuscript from the Biblioteca Colombina de Sevilla written by Ferdinand Colombus that is the only existing copy of this text. Facsimiles are exact page-by-page photographic copies of the original and preserve history by showing how people from past centuries created their catalogues. This precious artifact is a summary collection of nearly fifteen thousand to twenty thousand books from a private library that Columbus assembled in the early 16th century. His goal was to form a complete catalog of all the books in the world and he started this desire by finding as many books as he could. Unfortunately, he was unable to complete this endeavor and died before finishing it. Additionally, many of the books and resources in his collection were destroyed during the Inquisition. Fortunately, Arthur M. Huntington commissioned this facsimile, which reproduces the manuscript created by Columbus and presents it in an orderly and more accessible way to everyone. Huntington is the founder of The Hispanic Society of America which is the organization that gave this catalog to the Washington and Lee Library and is still an influential society today with a headquarters and museum in New York. It is interesting to note that Huntington put his credentials as a corresponding member of the Spanish royal academy and the royal academy of history in order to present himself as an intelligent person and in doing so present his work as also intelligent because it is a product of an international specialist. He begins with a title page and a dedicatory letter to the Biblioteca Colombina de Sevilla before beginning with the photographic reproduction of the manuscript. Each page of the manuscript has a multitude of book summaries written by Columbus, each with a number to catalog the summarized works. . This format is useful to understand the magnitude of the books described in this catalog. Interestingly, the catalog not only describes books from this period, but also other printed materials such as singles and ballads.
