Pre-Decision Sentiments

From 1980-1984, Washington and Lee took many steps to receive student and alumni feedback on the institutional question of coeducation. During this time period, different parts of the communities were impassioned and divided on how the university should move forward. President Wilson, the University President at the time, was tireless in pursuing all different avenues of opinion and feedback in order to have robust materials to present to the Board of Trustees, who would eventually make the decision. This section explores the plurality of alumni and student opinion which is sorted above by Pro vs. Anti coeducation sentiments.
